Austria is not a cheap country. Not only not cheap, but also quite expensive. Therefore, the price of the product, in particular in Vienna, is relevant for those who plan to travel there and want to spend money economically. One thing is clear: if you live in an apartment with a kitchen, and not in a hotel, and you don’t mind cooking, you will save several tens of euros, and you will have to buy food in supermarkets like Lidl, Hofer (in Hungary its analogue is called Aldi), Billa, Penny Market, Spar, Zeilpunkt, Merkur).
You can also buy food at the market. There are four of these in Vienna. Naschmarkt (in the city center), Karmelitmarkt (in the Jewish part of the city), Brunenmarkt (the eastern market in the Turkish quarter, away from the center) and Rochusmarkt.
