Vienna Zoo is the oldest in Europe. It was opened in 1779, although it existed before that, but only for nobles. There are so many animals and birds in different enclosures that it is interesting for both children and adults to look at them. The zoo is located in the summer residence of the emperors, which is a cultural heritage monument of world significance. It has been voted the best zoo in Europe five times. The historical atmosphere gives it a special charm.
Pandas attract special attention from visitors to the Vienna Zoo, but besides them there are pavilions of tropical forests, monkeys, polar inhabitants and other pavilions, aquariums, terrariums and so on.
