It will be very difficult to see Berlin in one day, but you will be able to get to know its main attractions. Berlin can be called the cultural capital of Germany. It houses important museums, galleries, temples, ancient castles, theaters and much more. You will long remember walks through its well-groomed and beautiful parks. Berlin is multifaceted, and as you stroll through the squares and streets, you will be amazed by both the city's past and its modernity. I will help you choose a route. Carefully read all articles related to Berlin and, if necessary, adjust the route - it all depends on your taste and capabilities.
Let's start our tour from Alexanderplatz. This is one of the main squares in Berlin. You won't get bored here. There are many attractions in the square. Previously, it was called “Royal”, but after the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III organized a parade here in 1805 in honor of his guest, the Russian King Alexander I, it was renamed and called Alexander Square, also known as Alexanderplatz.
One of the attractions is the Berlin TV Tower 365 meters high. If you go up to its observation deck, you will see a wonderful view of the city. Here is a unique restaurant that rotates on its own axis.
And this is the so-called "World Time", which shows the time of the largest cities in the world:
At the entrance to Alexanderplatz there is a church of the St. Virgin Mary XIII century (Marienkirche), one of the oldest churches in Berlin. Currently it belongs to the evangelists.
"Neptune's Fountain" is located next to the Marienkirche. It was created in the XIX century, although it has stood in this place since the middle of the XX century.
Let's go a little further to Alexanderplatz and enjoy the Red Town Hall building. It was built in the XIX century from red brick. This is the seat of the government of Berlin and the Senate meets here. Nearby is the workplace of the city mayor.
Let's leave Alexanderplatz and walk along the main street - Unter den Linden. Soon we will see an impressive architectural, historical and cultural phenomenon called "Museum Island".
The largest evangelical church in Germany was erected on Museum Island - Berlin Cathedral, which is compared to the entrance gate to this island:

Now we continue along the street Unter den Linden to the Opera House. In a few seconds we will see one of the most famous squares in Berlin. This is Gendarmenmarkt.
There are 4 attractions on the square - German Cathedral, which is not currently an active church. There you will see an exhibition depicting the development of German parliamentarism and democracy:
French Cathedral:
This is a working temple. The Huguenot Museum is located here. It also has an observation deck.
On the Gendarmenmarkt square there is the Berlin Concert Hall XIX century
and a monument to the famous German poet, playwright, philosopher and historian Friedrich Schiller:
There are many attractions on Unter den Linden: St. Hedwig's Church, Humboldt University, Madame Tussauds, etc. I recommend you take a look Checkpoint Charlie (former Cold War checkpoint when Berlin was divided in two),
And, of course, the Brandenburg Gate is the only one of Berlin's 18 gates that has survived in the city. The gate was built at the end of the XVIII century. Many historical events are associated with it and it is the most popular attraction in Berlin:

Next to the Brandenburg Gate, opposite the river, is the Reichstag, a world-famous government building. As you know, it was almost completely destroyed during World War II, but the Germans quickly restored it.
To enter the Reichstag, you will have to go through a special security check. At the top of the building there is a square with a wonderful view.
Behind the Brandenburg Gate is the largest park in Berlin Gross Tiergarten:
There are many memorials, fountains, areas for recreation and walking. I will highlight Victory Column:
Since you have come to this place, treat yourself and visit the Berlin Zoo, which has about 20 thousand species of animals.
Near the Berlin Zoo there is the famous shopping center Ka De We (Kaufhaus des Westen), operating since 1907. Here you will find an impressive assortment and reasonable prices.
You have already walked a lot and are probably tired, but you will gather yourself and visit about Ka De We Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, made in the neo-Romanesque style. It was built in 1895 but was destroyed during the war. In 1961, the church was rebuilt, but they decided to preserve part of the ruins, which would tell descendants about the cruelty of the war.
We recommend finishing the tour with a walk along Kudam Boulevard.
The boutiques of leading fashion designers such as Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani and others are located here. Don't forget the open-air exhibition featuring the most famous piece of the Berlin Wall.
That's it - exploring Berlin in 1 day is completed.
