The Budapest Zoo was opened in 1886. Among the exotic animals then there were only monkeys, camels and kangaroos. Since then, the zoo has had to overcome many problems, and during the Second World War it was almost completely destroyed by bombing, and out of 2 thousand of its inhabitants, only 15 survived. Later it underwent a large-scale reconstruction and now brings great pleasure to adults and children.
Who lives in the Budapest Zoo? Here you will see sloths, iguanas (you can even pet them), tapirs, flamingos, camels, gorillas and other monkeys, giraffes, anteaters, turtles, rhinoceroses, hippos and many other animals and birds, about 3 thousand creatures.
There is an aquarium, an oceanarium, and a butterfly house. The zoo is divided into zones: Savannah, Australia, Madagascar, India and many others. Below are some photos.
