The Czech koruna (koruna means "crown") has been the currency of the Czech Republic since 1993, after the split of Czechoslovakia, and is formally divided into 100 hellers, although heller coins are no longer in use. Coins in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 koruna are currently in circulation. On the obverse of all coins is a lion and the inscription "Czech Republic" (Česká republika).

Attention!!! Attention!!! Please note that 20 and 50 crown banknotes have been withdrawn from circulation. When exchanging money, be careful that no one slips them to you.
When exchanging money at a bank or exchange office, I recommend calculating in advance how many crowns you are entitled to at the rate indicated there, and then asking them to show you the amount on the calculator. Perhaps you will get a quite acceptable exchange.
Please note that it is impossible to conveniently exchange money in the historical center of Prague. This can only be done outside the "old town". At the airport, exchange exactly as many euros or dollars as you need to get to the center of the capital. It is better to buy crowns in Tbilisi at the "Bank of Georgia", on Freedom Square. Go to the bank's website, find the exchange rate of the crown to the lari and calculate in advance how many lari you will have to pay.
