 Hop-on-Hop-off Bus Tour

Walking around a beautiful city has a different charm, but if you have little time, want to see as many sights as possible and your pocket allows you to pay a few extra tens of euros, I suggest one of the best options to achieve this goal. This is a double-decker excursion bus HOP ON HOP OFF (Vienna Sightseeing) (as in other cities in Europe and the world). And you won’t get tired, and the children will have fun (if you are with them), and you will have time to go shopping, to a concert or play, or sit in a restaurant.

Hop On Hop Off means you can get off and on at any stop as many times as you want.

There are red, yellow, blue, green and gray routes that take you through different points of interest, although some are repetitive. The routes intersect at several points where you can switch to a different route if you need to.

Red Line - along the Ringstrasse you will find all the most important sights in Vienna. For example, the State Opera, from where you can walk along Kärtnerstrasse to the famous St. Stephen's Cathedral. The Hofburg Palace deserves special mention, as it will take you back to the era of the Empire. Visit the former residences of the emperors and the Sisi Museum. In the Imperial Treasury, enjoy the crown of the Holy Roman Empire and other precious objects. Right on the Ringstrasse there is a beautiful building of the Vienna Kunsthistorisches Museum, where the most valuable paintings are kept. Along this route you will also see the Austrian Parliament, the Town Hall and the National Theater.

Yellow Line - takes you to Schönbrunn Palace, one of Austria's most popular attractions and a World Heritage Site. See the emperor's chambers, stroll through the gardens, or take the kids to the zoo. Visit the Naschmarkt and buy fruits, vegetables and delicacies from around the world. Many bars and restaurants will entice you. And of course, Belvedere is the summer residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy. It is here that you will see the famous painting by Gustav Klimt - “The Kiss”. If you are interested in the history of Austria and the world wars, visit the Museum of Military History, where you will find many historical artifacts and interesting exhibitions.

Blue line - It basically runs along the banks of the Danube and leads to Hunderswater's house. There is a permanent exhibition of surrealist works by artist Friedensreich Hunderswater. When in Vienna, you should definitely visit the Prater. There are 250 attractions and the famous Ferris wheel. Along the same route, you will see the 252-meter-high “Danube Tower,” at the top of which there is an observation deck and a restaurant that slowly makes a 360-degree turn and offers a wonderful view of the Danube. In the nearby "Old Danube" you can have a picnic and go boating in the summer.

Grey Line - takes you to the outskirts of Vienna. The bus departs from the city park three times a day from March to October. Visit the archaeological park and open-air museum, as well as several ancient castles.

Green Line - the bus departs from the National Theater at intervals of 30-45 minutes and returns there. Along this route you will visit the Liechtenstein Palace and its grand staircase, the wine village of Grinzing, Mount Kallenberg overlooking Vienna, the sun terrace, the Votive Church and much more.
