Barcelona El Prat Airport

Barcelona Josep Tarradellas International Airport "El Prat" (Aeropuerto Josep Tarradellas Barcelona - El Prat) is the largest in Catalonia and the second in Spain in terms of passenger traffic. The International Air Transport Organization airport code is BCN. Barcelona Airport receives approximately 35 million passengers per year. I will provide you with information about the airport and how to get from El Prat to Barcelona and vice versa. I will offer several options (bus, train, taxi), and make the choice yourself.

Barcelona El Prat International Airport is located in Catalonia, in the municipality of El Prat de Liobregat. Its history begins in 1928, when the first airfield was opened. El Prat is located about 10 kilometers from Barcelona. It has 2 terminals: T1, opened in 2009, and T2, which is a merger of the old A , Band Cterminals.

Terminal T1 has check-in counters on the ground, first and third floors, and terminalT2 - on ground floor and in sectors B and C.

Terminals T1 and T2 are located at a distance of 4 kilometers from each other. You can move between them using a free shuttle. Please note that this may take up to 30 minutes. This time includes both the wait for the shuttle and the trip.

The distance between Barcelona airport and the center is 18 kilometers. You can travel by train, bus, metro and taxi. Let's look at each of them.

Train - Serkanias Airport railway station is located opposite the T2. To get to the center you need to take the yellow line R2N (Northern Line). Electric trains run every day from six in the morning to midnight with an interval of 20-30 minutes.
